I get a lot of questions from clan members about how they can best help the clan. So I'm going to make a topic on just that. I'll list some ways you can help the clan.
1) Use clan chat. Be helpful in clan chat. Be nice to people in clan chat. Buff people in clan chat. A friendly active clan chat is really the life behind a good clan in my opinion. It also won't hurt you to use the english language properly in chat. Nobody is the perfect master of the english language but we can all practice and try to use it better. Hey it's easier to read than cud u help me plz?
2) Donate to the clan stash. Meat is the most important since it can be used for advertising the clan and clan warfare. But there are lots of items you can add to the stash that can help also. Donating to the stash also increases your clan karma. High karma just makes you look cool.
3) Use the forums. The clan message board isn't very good for clan chat. It's too small for large clans so we generally delete all but the most important messages. Newbs will post there but the sooner they learn to use the forums or clan chat the better. So the more people using the forums regularly the better. This should be the best place to find information about the game from clan members.
4) Use the donate link or send Jick some money in the mail. Donating to the game keeps it free for everyone and gets you a free gift (Mr. Accessory) at the same time. By far the fastest way to get "rich" in Kingdom of Loathing is to donate regularly. A Mr. Accessory is usually worth about 5,000,000 meat. But trading that for the items of the month at Mr. Store and saving them is a smarter way to invest. There are Mr. Accessory items of the month priced at 500,000,000 meat and higher in the mall. Now it's not very likely that the newer ones will be that valuable anytime soon but there are items that are only a few months old that sell for almost 40,000,000 meat. See how donating can make you rich? Remember to donate to your clan also because they loved you even when you were a poor newbz0r.
Ok now for some more advanced things you can do for the clan.
Meat/item farming. Spending a little time once every so often to farm for meat or items for the clan is very valuable. If even only a few people did this it would increase the clans wealth a lot. Some ascensions and a lot of time would be required to make the best use of this strategy. You'd also want to use KoLmafia to automate your adventuring unless you liked clicking 1000's of times doing the same thing.
Ascensions desired - 1 hardcore oxy turtle tamer for pith helmet + sympathy. 1 hardcore oxy pastamancer for plexiglass pocketwatch and leash of linguini. 1 hardcore disco bandit ascension for stainless steel pants and mad looting skills. 1 hardcore pastamancer ascension for stainless steel solitaire and pastamastery. 3 softcore sauceror ascensions for expert panhandling, saucecrafting, and the way of sauce. One softcore pastamancer ascension for transcendental noodlecraft. 1 softcore turtle tamer ascension for empathy. 3 softcore disco bandit ascension for nimble fingers, advanced coctailcrating, and superhuman cocktailcrafting. 1 softcore seal clubber ascension for double-fisted skull smashing. Probably end as softcore accordian thief moxie packrat sign for polka of plenty, phat loot, ode to booze, carlweather's cantata of confrontation, powers of observatiogn, and gnefarious pickpocketing. Lot of work huh? Some of the buffing skills could be skipped if you want to rely on the cheap buffbots but in the long run with the pith helmet you could buff yourself for free.
Adventure in the castle in the clouds (set wheel on quest setting for no stat adventures) or the haunted bedroom with these buffs:
Ode to Booze (end of day for last drink so it's active at the beginning of the day for first drinks)
Empathy
Leash
Phat loot
Polka of Plenty
Carlweather's Cantata of Confrontation
You could use KoLmafia to summon all your noodles/reagents/cocktailcrafting/evil campsite food/toast (toaster) everyday. Also use it to eat/drink, script your adventures, cast buffs (the pith helmet restores HP/MP after every adventure), and even put items in the clan stash and change outfits. Depending on how you want to do it you could have scripts to buy your food/booze for the day or adventure/mix/cook them yourself. But with that many skills it would probably be easier/cheaper to just script buying/using them from the mall. It's even possible to have your scripts run automatically everyday without having to do anything. You could go on vacation and still farm everyday automatically with a little bit of geek setup.
Farming until you can afford the Mr. Store familiar that increases items/meat drops would be a good investment. Time gear or an imitation nice watch might be good for long term farming. Of course the same setup could be used to get rich quicker if you just want meat (plz, plz, plz?)
Also with different skills or only some of those skills you could devote yourself to farming/cooking hi meins or farming/pulverizing for wads. That's just one example of an advanced way you could help the clan.
Please make sure you obey the Policies of Loathing when dealing with multis. I don't want anyone getting accounts disabled because they didn't know or follow the rules. Don't get your butt kicked in by Multi Czar for being ignorant of the rules please.
