Lesson 1:  Never, NEVER read the black cat messages. 

If you dont read them, you wont get angry at what the cat just batted away!

Also, For a good little tip, is use your MP as much as possible so it doesnt go to waste.

Also, i might be crazy, but im doing a TT cat run...  lol.

I was wondering how its possible to do a 100% cat run when you need to pass the 2 giant familiars in the NS tower. Don't you need to level those up to level 20, thus spend adventures with them ?

No leveling required at all.

The only adventures that count to your familiar use% are combat ones.  The arena, NS tower familiar tests and the star starfish door are all classed as non-combat and, hence, dont count towards your total.  Similarly, you can safely adventure in the hidden temple or the pre-dungeons of doom dungeon with any familiar you like completely safely.

An approach you might like to take with Black Cat runs is to go as a Moxie class.  Simpler, faster runs and the cat doesn't seem to effect pickpocketing.  Disco Bandits, in particular, aren't dependant on MP to fuel buffs or combat skills.

Also, it might be worth saving the Scent of the Kitchen Elf adventure for when you *really* need to stop the cat batting things away.  Like goats cheese.

What if you were to put your black cat back in the terrarium and not take out another familiar for when you need an item, would that still count as a 100% black cat run?

I would just like to record for posterity that palice was able to beat her shadow in only two tries due to sheer dumb luck with cat blocking.

I`m currently doing a sauceror black cat run and I have to tell you it`s a major pain. The cat keeps switching the spell you choose to a physical attack plus it takes away buffs (I guess that won`t be a problem for a pastamancer). I would choose a disco bandit or seal clubber to do a black cat run, unless you are a masochist and enjoy the pain the cat brings a myst class.

I enjoy challenges and a break from regular HC.  Taking away buffs would be a problem for me as I like fushii.  I've played pastamancer only twice before, (I like moxie and muscle classes) but I like the new update with the spice ghosts and the more powerful spells.  I have oxbarn's log.  But seriously, entangling noodles now rocks and Cannelloni Cocoon has always rocked.  Chefstaves also got introduced so I might have a good time with pastamancer.
