New to Seven Lances

Hi, My name is Jason, I've been interested in Seven Lances for a year now or so.

I've always had trouble trying to install it and because of that never got to play it, just kinda gave up and tried again every few months.
The ONLY problem I'm running into I believe is the Version of Seven Lances never matches the version I have.

I actually didn't think i could get it this time either until I read some thread between someone named Foxbat and Mephista. I was overjoyed to see Foxbat had made Seven Lances compatible with 1.12!! In Fact I'm still Excited and Hate the fact that i may have to wait any amount of time for a reply on this post.

I'm Asking for some Direction in Where i can get the latest Seven Lances for 1.12 ^.^ Maybe some help for online play as well. Please and thank you. Contact me asap about it =) Blizz444@yahoo.com

The files are located on the main web page for this site in the download section.

Mephista should put the old 1.26b installer on that page also since it might be better to install the old one and then update that by unzipping the new one into the D2 folder overwriting the old files.

Online play? I don't think Mephista runs the server 24/7 anymore. You'd have to ask her to fire it up if you wanted to play there. You might be pretty lonely on there unless you get some friends to play at the same time though.

Thanks a bunch, I Downloaded the Seven_Lances_v1_27.zip and Unziped it into my d2 directory. I get the Hourglass when I try to load 7Lgame.exe and then nothing, As well as Cannot find Diablo II please re install when I try to run the script.

I read in the readme how to solve both of those problems but I'm not sure how that would work in my case.
Since my Diablo II cd's no longer work (Brings up Play diablo II? click play and then it tells me cd isn't in my drive) I have to use Daemon Tools and Load up D2Lod.iso

Any help is greatly appreciated on what i can do.

Install this (old version with an installer). http://www.sevenlances.net/7l/SevenLancesv1_26b.exe

Then unzip the new version from the zip file into your D2 folder and overwrite all the files. You should have links in your start menu D2 folder to run SevenLances.

I looked, and Could not find out 'how' to implament the 7L mod. May I get some insite?

Alright, I Copied my d2 folder so as not to mess up my original files, Installed the 26b then unzipped 27 and tried to load the play seven lances.vbs Got the hour glass then nothing...

of course so many errors popped up during the 26b install it made my head spin,  Need AP.MOD or something there was more to it, and some other random error that was like sjdkfjg34234 blah blah was not found and eventually the setup froze up. I opened my Task manager and got rid of the errors and continued with the setup knowing that it prolly won't work.

Why can't things just work =(

P.S. restarted comp now when i load Play seven Lances.vbs it tells me it can't find my d2 installation.
Sorry but i'm going to give up on seven lances. I usually get motivated by Mods with Screenshots of play or youtube videos but Seven Lances has nothing. it doesn't look like it's getting updated anymore so I think i'm going to just stop trying, Thanks for all the help and sorry.

I've installed 1.26b on XP and Windows 98 many times. It works flawlessly, or at least has every time I've done it. There is no installer for the newest version since it's basically just an update. But if you got install errors when you tried to install 1.26b then it didn't install and trying to run a failed install will never work.

You probably have anti-virus software or some other software preventing the .vbs install scripts from running. A lot of anti-virus software considers .vbs scripts threats and won't let them run. Simple matter of turning off the software that blocks the install and turning it back on later. I know for a fact at least some versions of Norton want to block the installer from running by default.

I still consider it one of the best Diablo 2 MODs I've ever played. I just don't play Diablo 2 anymore.

HEY! I decided i would give it another shot with a fresh install of xp javascript:void(0); and guess what ^.^ It WORKS!!! I havn't made a character yet but i would love to get started and maybe join a game with someone tcp/ip or something! i dunno why it didn't run last time but ya works flawless i never did any updates tho hope that doesn't matter, i just installed from the mods section in d2sector.
