OS reinstall/RAID question

I've got my OS on one hard drive and a RAID1 with all my data on 2 other drives. If I reinstall my OS (WinXP Pro) from scratch, won't I have to rebuild the RAID from scratch which would also force me to wipe them?

Looking through the manual and the internet I can't seem to see how I would reinstall without rebuilding the RAID and thus reformating the drives and loosing all the data. Backing up isn't an option because I don't have anything laying around that can hold that much data.

Oh and it's a ATI SB600 RAID controller on a MSI K9A2 platinum if that matters...

Depends. Was the RAID created with the motherboard/controller RAID setup or with Windows?

motherboard controller. It looks like if I reinstall Windows and the RAID drivers then when I re-boot it will want to re-detect the RAID and try to recreate it which will force a format... or at least that's what it looks like from what I've read.

No we are trying to add a new warehouse management system to our company and I seem to be in charge of it for some reason... I spend all day on the phone with different reps trying to find the perfect system for our company... oh and at the same time I still do all 30 of my other normal daily jobs.

Well actually it is why I haven't been on at home I guess... ;D

Oh and back up the data?!?! That's your advice?? I have 250 gigs of data on that array.... back up the data! Let me just grab a bunch of floppies and get started!
