A NEW BADGER! It might only drop 3 gongs, as opposed to 5 mushrooms and whatever the hell the pixie drops.

Mr Store Description: (Acts as a half-weight volleyball, and drops gongs that allow you to go on a variety of spiritual journeys.)

When you use the gongs, you get a choice of 3 options, Roach for 3 turns, Mole for 12 turns, and Bird for 15 turns. Haven't spaded it much but the roach form looks pretty good so far.

and best yet, i believe the whole thing is a reference to this but i can't be sure yet. i want to see some more stuff from it! it looks great so far

We all know the prices will drop once the number of llamas in the kidgdom increases.  Doesn't look anywhere near as good/useful as the Badger of Green Pixie, and look at the costs of absinthe and astral mushrooms these days

You are kidding, right? This is the best thing that happened for HC in quite some time. I'll explain why at length later

Without giving it much thought, I'd say it is clearly better than the badger...

I think that it is better at stats than the badger, but the badger has its own strengths that the llama lacks. They can't really be compared; they have different uses.

I remember two cerebral crossbows in hardcore being the coolest thing ever. The problem is that new items have been added to the game that are as good or better.

The badger isn't the first IotM to be obsolete, look at the ice sickle. yeah, it might be a little better than the whips that are easily crafted, but not by much.

private to radiobugbear: Make the cererbral crossbow a little more powerful so the astral badger is more useful in hardcore like it used to be before the obsidian dagger and other +damage items came out. :-)

There. Now they'll make it better and astral badger prices will skyrocket like I want them to. 

Edit: The intrinsic effect of the Encephalic Ensemble still isn't known. If the effect is figured out and it's useful in some way that would be cool.
