Uh, we could branch out our clan to become different clans.  Send some well experenced people to create more sevenlance clans so that we could build a dynasty.

While I might enjoy the clan a little more with just my favorite people in it (mostly the higher ranking, more experienced people) that would just serve to separate the elite from the newbs. Some clans do that and make the newbs claw their way to the top mostly on their own before giving them a chance to join the "elite clan". I'm not a big fan of that type of system. That's like starting a family and then booting the baby out in the cold, and if he somehow survives by being raised by wolves you let him join when he's old enough. Doesn't do much for the survival rate of the newbies. We try and help the newbs so they can become stronger, more experienced players faster.

I recruited my first player!  woohoo!  Welcome to the clan Cod.
Duckyguy loves Huney more than I do.

The above quote was taken out of context :)

whatever you do, don't advertise in the public chat channels, that's a quick way to get banned from chat

I don't have a problem with someone advertising the clan on their websites. Point them here - http://www.sevenlances.net/forum/ and http://www.kingdomofloathing.com
Also if you're going to advertise more than that make sure they know they have to be level 3 before they can apply to a clan and when they apply search for SevenLances.com as the clan name. Other than that just make sure the information is accurate and honest. We have had some clan ads on the KoL forums but I haven't posted one for quite some time.

Go to kmail, write a message, search for players, search for level 1, non-pvp, non-hardcore. Click search and then find the largest player ID #. That's probably a new player or close. You can /whois PlayerID# in chat and keep using higher numbers until you get player doesn't exist errors to find the newest players. Sending candy hearts with messages like "Join Clan" are cute little ways to get people to think about joining.

I find it a touch easier to /who newbie and grab the id of the last name in black. Tends to be, that guy has just created an account and passed the lit test x
